[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Sangjin] E-Mart announced on the 10th that it will voluntarily recall two models of the "Smartmi Stand Wireless Fans" imported and sold from China.
The recall affects the following products:
Smartmi Stand Fan 2S (Wireless)
Smartmi Stand Fan 3 (Wireless)
The manufacturer is Beijing Smartmi Electronics Technology. The products are labeled with "Importer/Seller: E-Mart Co., Ltd." on the bottom of the product.
These fans, which received the National Certification Mark (KC) and went through formal import procedures, were sold from May 2020 to July 2022 through Traders, SSG.com, and various open markets.
E-Mart stated that the recall is being conducted proactively due to unexplained battery overheating issues to ensure customer safety.
Customers who own these products can return them to any E-Mart or Traders customer service center, regardless of the purchase location. The Smartmi Stand Fan 2S will be refunded at 110,000 KRW each, and the Smartmi Stand Fan 3 at 130,000 KRW each. However, refunds are not available at the E-Mart Bucheon and Anyang stores.
