[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Minyoung] It has been reported that Baemin has occasionally dispatched multiple orders simultaneously to riders under its 'Han Jib Baedal' system, designed to handle single orders quickly.

In response to concerns raised within the delivery industry, some argue that 'Han Jib Baedal' has effectively become 'Du Jib Baedal' (handling two orders), questioning the practice. Baemin maintains that since delivery begins immediately upon pickup, it aligns with the concept of 'Han Jib Baedal.'

According to sources in the delivery industry on July 1st, Baemin does indeed assign two or more 'Han Jib Baedal' orders to a single rider at times.

An industry insider mentioned, "About a month ago, Baemin started assigning two 'Han Jib Baedal' orders when riders were scarce." They added, "The rider picks up one order, delivers it, then picks up the next, leaving the second customer waiting unnecessarily."

'Han Jib Baedal' involves immediate delivery to customers as the rider picks up from a single restaurant.

Currently, Baemin offers 'Alttul Baedal' for free. Customers who prefer faster delivery can opt for 'Han Jib Baedal' for a delivery fee of about 1000 won.

Assigning multiple 'Han Jib Baedal' orders to a single rider may inadvertently mimic the operational model of 'Alttul Baedal,' raising concerns about operational efficiency.

Baemin clarifies that while they may assign multiple 'Han Jib Baedal' orders to one rider, since delivery starts immediately upon pickup, it remains within the concept of 'Han Jib Baedal.' They further explain that the second order is typically assigned with ample preparation time remaining to avoid actual waiting times.
