[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Sangjin] The nationwide Samsung Electronics Workers' Union (NSEWU), the largest union at Samsung Electronics, has announced a strike from August 15 to 18. The strike will include various forms of work stoppages and refusal of holiday work.

On Liberation Day, August 15, the union will implement a holiday work refusal. For the following days, the strike will include different types of work stoppages, including modified shifts, 4-shift and 3-shift rotations, and flexible working hours.

This decision comes after the union's total strike on July 8 and subsequent intensive negotiations with management from July 29, which failed to reach an agreement on wage increases and performance-based bonuses. The union returned to work 25 days after the strike began but has now planned this series of strikes, including guerrilla-style actions.
