[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jisun] EcoPro Group announced on the 1st that it will distribute Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) to its employees for the first time next month, sharing the company’s growth with its members.

The RSUs will be granted to 2,706 employees who were with the company as of September 2022, with a total of 254,913 shares to be distributed. The number of shares each employee receives will be determined based on a comprehensive assessment of their position, years of service, and annual salary, equating to 15-20% of their salary at that time.

Unlike stock options, where employees benefit from the difference between the stock price and the exercise price, RSUs involve the company transferring its own shares to employees without charge. While stock options allow employees to purchase shares at a predetermined price and sell them at market value, RSUs are distributed either annually or in a lump sum after a few years.

Publicly listed companies grant shares to employees from their stock, whereas unlisted companies provide the shares of their listed parent company. In this case, employees of unlisted EcoPro EM will receive shares of the listed parent company, EcoPro BM, as RSUs. The distribution of RSUs not only to employees of listed companies but also to those of unlisted affiliates is expected to boost morale across the entire group.
