[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jisun] The Korea GM labor union distributed a "strike directive" to its members, instructing them to strike for 6 hours (6T) during working hours. For fixed-shift and office workers, the strike will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a break during lunch, meaning they will participate in the strike for six hours, effectively dedicating most of their workday to the strike.

During the 22nd round of negotiations held that day, the company presented its final offer for the "2024 Wage and Collective Agreement Negotiation" to the union, which included a 5% discount on vehicle purchases, a 15 million KRW performance bonus (including a 3.5 million KRW settlement bonus and 7 million KRW management performance bonus from the previous year), and a 101,000 KRW increase in base salary. However, the union rejected the offer. The meeting attracted significant attention from the labor community, with key figures such as Jang Chang-yeol, the chairman of the Korean Metal Workers' Union, in attendance.

The union argues that, given the company achieved record profits last year with over 1 trillion KRW in operating profit, and considering the workers' previous sacrifices during difficult times, the company should take a more favorable stance toward the union's demands this year.
