[Alpha Biz= Paul Lee] Amorepacific has revealed that it is considering building a production facility in the United States in response to the tariff policies of U.S. President Donald Trump.

In an interview with Bloomberg TV on Tuesday, CEO Kim Seung-hwan stated, “Considering the growth of our U.S. and North American business, we are positively looking at the need for a production facility in the U.S. over the long term and are preparing for it.”

Kim also provided a specific timeline, saying, “In the next 3 to 5 years, we are considering investments from a logistics perspective to facilitate smoother operations for our U.S. business, or to produce some of our products in modules. We are preparing for an actual production facility with a 5-10 year horizon, but given the recent changes and trends, we may need to expedite this process.”

In the short term, the company plans to improve logistics facilities or carry out certain processes such as filling and packaging in the U.S., while considering establishing a full-scale production facility over the medium to long term. Currently, Amorepacific has production facilities only in Osan, Anseong, and Daejeon in South Korea, as well as in Shanghai, China. The company is concerned that the Trump administration's reciprocal tariffs could impact its operations.
