[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] Han Seong-sook, former CEO of Naver, has stepped down from her role and has been appointed as an advisor to the company.

According to industry sources on the 15th, Han resigned from her position as Head of Naver's European Development Office in March and has since taken on an advisory role at the company. This marks the end of her three-year tenure in Europe, a position she assumed in March 2022.

A Naver representative stated, “Her term as Head of European Development has concluded. She has now been appointed as an advisor to Naver.”

Han began her career in 1997 as a founding member of Empas, a pioneering Korean internet portal. She went on to lead various roles, including Head of Member Search Business. In 2007, she joined Naver (then NHN), where she held key positions such as Head of Search Quality Center, Head of Service Division, and Chief Operating Officer. She was appointed CEO of Naver in March 2017 and stepped down in March 2022.

During her tenure, Naver successfully transitioned to mobile platforms and solidified its position as a lifestyle ecosystem, launching core services like Naver Shopping and Naver Pay. Under her leadership, Naver’s revenue grew significantly—from KRW 4.02 trillion in 2016, prior to her appointment, to KRW 6.82 trillion in 2021.
