[Alpha Biz= Paul Lee] SEOUL, November 6, 2025 — Lotte Chilsung Beverage Co., Ltd., the flagship beverage unit of Lotte Group, announced it will implement a voluntary retirement program for the first time since its founding in 1950, as part of efforts to enhance efficiency and adapt to changing market conditions.
The program targets employees aged 45 and older (born before 1980) or those with more than 10 years of service, regardless of position or job grade.
Participants will receive compensation based on years of service:
20 months of base salary for employees with 10–15 years of service
24 months of base salary for those with over 15 years
40% of remaining wages for workers on wage-peak contracts
In addition, Lotte Chilsung will provide ₩10 million (approx. US $7,200) in re-employment support funds and up to ₩10 million per child in university tuition assistance.
A company spokesperson said,
“This is the first voluntary retirement program in our 75-year history, designed to strengthen long-term competitiveness and build a more agile, future-oriented organization.”
The company stressed that participation is strictly voluntary.
Despite the measure, Lotte Chilsung reported solid Q3 results, driven by strong global sales.
Revenue: ₩1.079 trillion (+1.3% YoY)
Operating profit: ₩91.8 billion (+16.6% YoY)
Global sales: ₩384.2 billion (+9.5%), with operating profit up 44.8% to ₩20.7 billion
The beverage maker recently exited its whisky business to focus resources on core operations amid rising domestic cost pressures.
