[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Sangjin] An employee at an NH Nonghyup Bank branch in Ulsan has been caught embezzling approximately KRW 250 million from a customer in their 70s.

The incident came to light when the victim's family noticed discrepancies in the account balance and reported their concerns directly to the bank.

A representative from NH Nonghyup Bank stated, "We are currently conducting an internal audit regarding this matter, and it is not related to manipulation of the internal IT system."

Previously, NH Nonghyup Bank CEO Lee Seok-yong acknowledged during a National Assembly audit on the 18th that efforts to strengthen systems to prevent financial incidents had been insufficient, expressing regret over the issue.
