[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Minyoung] Ecopro Group's holding company, Ecopro (086520), announced on the 2nd that it recorded provisional sales of 1.206 trillion won and an operating loss of 298 billion won for the first quarter on a consolidated basis. This marks a 50.6% decrease in sales and a shift to operating losses compared to the same period last year.
Its subsidiary Ecopro BM, which produces cathode materials, reported first-quarter sales of 970.5 billion won and an operating profit of 6.7 billion won, down 51.7% and 93.8% respectively from the previous year. It incurred a net loss of 49 billion won.
Ecopro Materials, a subsidiary that produces precursors, posted a provisional operating loss of 13 billion won for the first quarter. Its sales decreased by 66.3% year-on-year to 79.2 billion won, and it incurred a net loss of 85 billion won.
Ecopro HN, which produces electrolyte additives and cathode materials, reported first-quarter sales of 51.5 billion won and an operating profit of 7.3 billion won, down 13.4% and 38.7% respectively from the same period last year. Its net profit decreased by 32.4% year-on-year to 6.6 billion won.
