[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Sangjin] The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport has announced that a total of 189,797 vehicles across 33 models manufactured or imported by Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz Korea, BMW Korea, and Ford Sales Service Korea will undergo voluntary recalls due to identified manufacturing defects.

Among these, 117,569 units of four Hyundai models, including the Grand Starex, are being recalled starting from the 25th due to concerns over inadequate durability of the Hydraulic Electronic Control Unit (HECU), which poses a fire risk.

Additionally, 58,105 units of four models, including the Genesis G70, will be subject to recall from the 31st because of insufficient durability in the pressure regulation components of the high-pressure fuel pump, which could cause the vehicles to stop while driving.

Mercedes-Benz Korea’s imported models, including the Mercedes-AMG GT 43 4MATIC+, have also been flagged for recall. A total of 5,706 units are being recalled due to design errors in the transmission wiring connectors that could lead to a fire.

Furthermore, 4,748 units of five models, including the GLE 300d 4MATIC, have been found to have discrepancies between the reported and actual vehicle widths, resulting in a failure to meet safety standards.

Recall procedures for ten Mercedes-Benz models began on the 23rd.
