[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] Seoul, June 30, 2025 — NAVER Cloud has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the New Murabba Development Company (NMDC) to collaborate on deploying advanced technologies—including robotics, autonomous driving, and spatial intelligence—in Saudi Arabia’s flagship future city project, New Murabba.

Located in Riyadh and spanning 15 square kilometers, New Murabba is backed by the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) and aims to become a model of next-generation urban development. The city will house residential and commercial complexes, cultural and public facilities, and a central architectural landmark known as “The Mukaab.”

Under the agreement, NAVER and NMDC will explore integration of NAVER’s smart city technologies, including urban monitoring, spatial intelligence solutions, autonomous mobility platforms, and robotics systems.

The signing ceremony took place during the New Murabba Seoul Forum at Floating Island Convention Center in Seoul, attended by NMDC CEO Michael Dyke, NAVER Cloud CEO Youwon Kim, and NAVER Labs CEO Sangok Seok.

Michael Dyke commented, “New Murabba is a key initiative to realize Saudi Vision 2030, transforming Riyadh’s real estate and urban landscape to world-class standards. Partnering with NAVER Cloud, a global innovator, is an important step toward achieving that vision.”

NAVER Cloud CEO Youwon Kim added, “It is an honor to bring NAVER’s core future technologies into New Murabba, a project poised to become a global benchmark for smart cities. We look forward to continuing our collaboration and delivering meaningful outcomes based on cutting-edge digital infrastructure.”

NAVER previously completed digital twin projects in three Saudi cities and is advancing a joint venture with the country’s National Housing Company (NHC). NMDC executives are currently in Korea to build strategic partnerships and explore investment opportunities with local firms.
