[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Sangjin] Woo Ram-chan, who gained attention as the 'youngest executive' at LG Electronics, has moved to Samsung Electronics.

According to business circles on the 22nd, Woo, the former executive director of LG Electronics’ Platform Business Center, left LG Electronics in March this year and started working at Samsung Electronics' Device Solutions (DS) division System LSI Business Planning Team from this month. His position remains at the executive director level. The System LSI Business Division is responsible for designing system semiconductors like the 'Exynos,' which serves as the brain of smartphones, and for developing software.

Woo was promoted to executive director at the age of 36 in 2014, the youngest in LG Electronics' history, in recognition of his achievements, such as successfully leading strategic smartphone projects including the 'G3.' He also holds the title of the youngest Ph.D. graduate from KAIST in 2004. His first job was with the American semiconductor company Texas Instruments.

At LG Electronics, Woo’s last position was at the Platform Business Center, an organization that develops and enhances the overall service ecosystem, including the ‘ThinQ’ application. Given Woo's career in mobile and software fields, he is expected to take on related roles at Samsung Electronics as well.
